Wak bo bai vota!

Korda: si bo no vota, ora kos bai malu bo no tin nada di bisa tampoko!

No ta ora di elekshon so ta ora pa mustra interés den ki gobernantenan ta hasiendo ku nos país. Despues di vota, sigui riba nan: sea krítiko, habri bo boka, get involved, and always question. Kuater aña largu!

Sa tambe ku esun ku a kumpra bo voto no tin nèt nèt niun tiki kunes ku bo! Long term thinking people! Beltegoed, un frishidèl nobo, un makutu di kuminda ta yudabo e luna aki so. E hendenan aki tin 47 luna mas ku nan tin ku traha pa bo, MAKE THEM WORK FOR IT. HARD. (Btw, un pajarito a kontami ku sa paga pa yena pompis di baisait en kambio pa voto tambe. Please please PLEASE say it ain’t so…)

Bek na e frishidèl ei, no. Wak, pa prome, you’re damn cheap.

AccountabiliTAY!

Lokual nos MESTER EXIGI di tur politiko (anto korda, they are working for US, NOT the accountabilityother way around) ta kosnan substantivo, sto’i vota pa KOS. Exigí pa nan invertí regularmente den hard capital, pero tambe human capital, na loga di hinka pasjes den nan jasjes anto duna famia no-kapás puesto. Kosnan manera enseñansa na nivel ku ta laga nos kompeti internashonal, un ekonomia ku ta draai als een tierelier, kual ta ensera trabou i oportunidadnan amplio pa tur hende, long-term planning pa nos keep up riba global stage, embrace of innovation, a commitment to our HEALTH (Sehos i Isla, yeah I said it) anto shall I go on? Bisa politiko pa e SORU pa e krea un ekonomia kaminda bo MES por kumpra bo frishidèl, thank you very much.

Sto’i vota pa famia ku amigu pa loko!

No ta bai pa e nomber riba stembiljet. Mi no tin kunes si mi mayornan ta riba lista: si lokual famia ta kere aden no ta kuadra ku lokual ami ta kere ta na bienestar di nos país, es mas, di nos TUR, mi NO TA VOTA PA FAMIA. Bo voto ta sekreto toch, kemen hasi bo research krítiko anto vota pa esun ku echt ta bai trese kambio positivo! (Mirak’i, dankidjó mi ku mi mayornan ta see eye-to-eye den mayoría asuntu politiko, yu!)

Voting Rights

Vota ta un derechi ku hopi di nos ta take for granted. A LOT of people fought for your right to vote, especially if you are of color, a woman or both. Sorry, I’m getting mad now, anto e Inglés ta dominá un ratu, allow me.

Even being white and/or male didn’t mean you always had that inalienable right. Oh, no. In the middle ages, if you were part of the plebs, you didn’t matter either to the aristocracy. And as recently as 2015, aki na Merka na various estado, tatin varios incidente di voter suppression anto illegal ID-laws that overwhelmingly affected African-American voters’ ability to go to the polls.

Listen, I’ve poured my heart into this one, did some research and even made you a timeline with a few key high- and lowlights on voting rights, mainly in the US, with a couple of datapoints on Australia thrown in for good measure.

There are the sources that I used, however, Google is your friend, kemen bo sa kaba…

In short, nos tur na un of otro momentu den historia, algun mas resién ku otro, no tatin e derecho di vota ei, anto mester a guli abuso.
